BCH ROADSHOW Stand outside the entrance to Wyevale
THE 2010 BCH
Roadshow made its tentative first appearance at the
Bicester Wyevale 19040s Weekend on 12/13th June 2010, and what a
fantastic and worthwhile weekend that was. Many thanks to
Wyevale, Bicester Avenue Home and Garden Centre.

Bicester Mayor and Mayoress visit the Stand

Julian Mitchell's RAF Radar Truck display on the Stand |
Re-Enactors, military vehicles, and veterans from
the Bomber Command Association signing prints for the Central London
memorial Campaign - all added to fantastic weekend organized by the
Bicester Wyevale Retail Village.
In pole position, outside the main entrance, the
BCH ROADSHOW was complete with Julian Mitchell's fantastic
period RAF Radar Truck display.
This was the first outing for the BCH ROADSHOW in
the 2010 Season. Ongoing battles with resources keeps the
full-throttle approach at bay for this sort of thing, but the the
Stand turned out to be a rip-roaring success.
Many contacts were made - including the new Mayor
(Richard Mould) and Mayoress (Eileen Mould) of Bicester. The message
about the BCH Campaign for an Education Centre/Museum on the Site of
the former RAF Bicester was conveyed. Lots of general interest
in the subject as well. The BCH coffers grew as well thanks to the
excellent fund-raising efforts on the stand and sales of BCH
SHOP merchandise.
A very worthwhile weekend's effort indeed. The BCH
VOLUNTEERS who were involved all should take credit for their hard
work - these sort of things are not easy to do!
So this has helped wet the appetite for a few more
ROADSHOW events to come, and given a hint of what BCH can do, even
with little resources.
The next BCH ROADSHOW event is scheduled for the
Bicester Carnival on the 11th of July 2010. See you there!
