Foo Fighter Filming
Oxford Film & TV Co. Filming the Kemble Mossie

Oxford Film & TV Co. are the first film company to use Dave Hall's Kemble Mossie Project as a prop. To be broadcast in April '05, the programme is a documentary about the subject of the WWII "Foo FIghter" phenomena.

One of the uses always envisaged for Dave Hall's de Havilland Mosquito re-creation project was for "live" aircraft filming for organizations wishing to make use of such a facility.

Devonair's hangar at Kemble made an ideal Film-Set

Denonair Aviation Services and home to the Mossie Project, kindly provided use of their hangar - and what a superb facility it is for filming.

Sue Jones, Producer at  Oxford Film & TV said: "It was so nice to meet you all  and  a lovely final days shoot." They really appreciated the space in which to work undisturbed. The actors, suitably attired for their rôles, were themselves quite freaked by the realism of sitting in the cockpit of such a realistic re-creation.

The WWII "Foo Fighter" phenomena was basically experienced by both sides. The strange sightings of mysterious flying objects at the time were attributed to "enemy technology." The British, Americans, and Nazi's each fearful of what each other was doing. Many sightings of such objects occurred, particularly around experimental facilities, which re-enforced this fear of enemy technology spying on new developments. Camera footage taken during V2 launches, Test Pilot reports during jet test flights, all gave credence to the phenomena. This pre-dated the UFO stories of the Cold War period.

So keep a look out on your screens (or skies!) in July 2005 for the Kemble Mossie Project and it's staring rôle in the programme.

Fascinating to watch both "crews" in action
