AIM
This is a publicity project that is our attempt
to raise the profile of, and to tell the
story behind, David Hall's Kemble Mossie Project. This
is David's remarkable attempt to re-create a de Havilland Mosquito
B.IV to ground running condition.
AS time goes on we we hope to record the progress of
the project as well as giving an insight into the David's skill and
determination to realize a dream of having something in the UK to
remember this fantastic aircraft and the people who designed, built
and flew her. There are several fronts on which we are
actively working to promote the fascinating story and progress of
the Kemble Mossie Project:
-
BCH Website and the Internet
-
Parramatter - the BCH Newsletter
-
"Giving it a go!" - The Video of the
project
-
BCH Roadshow Display Stand at shows and
events (particularly those at Kemble Airfield)
-
MEDIA - Pres Releases and Articles to the media
Including specialist Warbird and Heritage Magazines
-
Newsletters of other aviation groups and
heritage organizations
-
Parts Appeals - to source crucial items or
resources for the project
-
Act as an advocate within the BAPC
LATEST
Work is continuing on generating content for the
Video. We've started to record in detail the operation
of the systems installed - downward identification signalling lights
and a general tour of the basic pilots flight instruments and
systems. Our next task is to start to record "interviews"
with David where we cover some of the background to the subject and
the trails and tribulations of getting the project off the ground
and keeping going.
Although the BCH Roadshow has been stripped
back for the 2004 Season, to concentrate on our projects, wee
are nevertheless going to appear with the Kemble Mossie on
the BCH Stand at the Kemble Open Day on 12th Sep 2004. Many
thanks again to Devonair
Aviation Services for hosting.

BACKGROUND

Roll-out of the mated fuselage sections from the C2 Hangar at Kemble
The main
fuselage roll-out and appearance at the Kemble PFA Rally in
2003 was a key event that enabled us to generate
"newsworthy" Press Releases and Articles about the
project. Flypast Magazine were kind enough to include this
event in their editorial, out of which David was contacted and a
vital set of main undercarriage wheels were recently forthcoming for
the next stage of the project. For this alone we feel our efforts
have been worthwhile.

Other groups in their Newsletters have covered the
project, including the much-respected Milton Keynes Aviation
Society (MKAS). We were also fortunate enough to be allowed to
do a BCH Display Stand at their Bomber Crew Forum
2003 event, on which we
included information about David's project.
The real eye-catcher though, of course, has been
having the Kemble Mossie on our BCH Roadshow Display
Stand at the Kemble-based events in the 2003 season. Including The
Vintage Fly-In and the PFA Rally.
